Hi guys
I have a triumph gt6 and my speedo and rev counter are not working. The ignition light works and the indicator light too so they both have power but neither dial goes round when in motion/accelerator down.

Before I buy a new pair does this sound like it is broken or loose wire and repairable or something else? I have fitted a new alternator but the rev counter does not work still thank you.

Speedo works form the gear box
Could be the drive cable/the angle drive of the input on rear may have rounded off and  not square,allowing cable to drive
Put an quivalent sized bit in to the orifice at the back and use a cordless drill on slow speed to test if gauge needle works
The rev counter works on a feed from the coil and earth
Try slave wires to the reve counter whilst engine is  running, in case there is a broken wire somewhere

Rev counter on a GT6 is a mechanical one, so driven by a cable that is connected to the distributor. So check both cables if they are connected to gearbox/distributor and gauges.

i actually have a TR6 gearbox, does that make things more complicated?
