Hi

Looking at a factory, Smiths gauge info sheet, it appears this should have a coil/s at each end to absorb vibration.

Mine doesn't and is probably brittle by now.

Any issue do you think please?.

Good Xmas to all.

Thanks, Dave

Originally copper tubes, not plastic.  They needed a coil to absorb vibration.

Usually fail under the dash..... they get to fill your shoe with hot oil that way.

FWIW  Hillman Hunter's had a straight nylon pipe. Never knew one to break or leak.

I wouldn't use the plastic type, had one fail on my Herald many years ago now. Stopped in time and managed to bodge it back together, but had to hike a mile in typical Welsh monsoon weather to buy more oil before I could carry on home.

Mini spares places do braided versions that seem much better, I fitted one as a replacement and haven't had any trouble with it.
