International Triumph Show & Spares Day

16th February 1997
Stoneleigh

For the third year running the Club had a stand at the International Triumph Show at the National Agricultural Centre at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire last month.
Club Stand
There were two signal red cars displayed, the Vitesse 2 litre Mk.II convertible of Chris Balster and Margaret Hobbs and the Spitfire Mk.I of Philippa and Rod Newnham. Both these cars were in top condition and attracted much attention at this well-attended show. General View of Show In spite of rather adverse weather, there were over 7,000 visitors who were able to take advantage of a much larger autojumble, now in two halls, as well as displays from ten clubs. The Club Triumph stand showed some changes from last year and included a new back drop which had been constructed by Les Mills to include the theme "A Club for Affordable Classics" and some new surrounds in two shades of blue. These had metal frames made by Dennis Allen and special material arranged by Derrick Levitt, In addition there was help on the stand provided by Alan Renew, Keith Bennett, Jean Levitt, John and Bridget Snook and John Millidge who was in charge of Club Shop sales. We were pleased to see a number of members visiting the stand including Vice President Malcolm Warren, Madalene Warren, Competition Secretary Paul Johns, P,R,O, Bill Bolton, Annis Green, Peter Willey, Vivien and Victor Thompson, Andy and Michelle Everett, Roger Keys, Kay Sellars, Helen and Steven Cox, Alan Crussell, Andy Roberts, Andrew Rowe, Dave Wiggins, Jeff and Carol Black, Bob Gosling and others who I regret I have forgotten!

As usual there was a competition for best club stand, Club Triumph having been placed 1st and 3rd in the past two years, were again first this year, a compliment to the hard work and enthusiasm of all concerned.
