Club Triumph

Hi just brought myself a lovely 1973 Triumph GT6 Mk3 and have also just joined this lovely club. My car is suffering really poor performance which is surprising since the last owner has had the engine reconditioned and can now run unleaded, refurbed the carb's and all sorts, but I found yesterday when I picked her up that fuel was dripping out of the front air filter. Cut a long story short, thought it was a sticky float valve, so had a look and it was sticky (a bit), put the carbs back on the car and it now starts and immediately is revv'ing at about 4000 rpm. For a recently recon'ed engine I don't think I'm doing her any favours and the petrol is still dripping out of the front air filter. So was wondering if there was a local Triumph specialist in and around the Warwickshire area (I live in Oxhill, just south of Stratford Upon Avon) who I could get the car to and get sorted.

Any ideas please?
