Mot booked for Saurday.

I was fairly confident until I decided to rub down a small area of flaking paint on Sunday and, using the lightest emery paper available, found that under the flaky paint was...........................nothing. Just a hole.

This leads me to supect that there may be more rust but as I am somewhat restricted by lack of health, facilities and competence I cannot check underneath before the MoT tester starts poking around.

The engine, gearbox, transmission and everything else is spot on as befits a mileage of just under 60,000 for a 1975 car so I would be sad to see Daisy go but I have to limit my spending as my 'normal' motoring costs are about to increase thanks to a longer daily commute.

Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Daisy obviously caught onto my thought waves about MoTs and buying a commuting car (I did buy a car but perhaps not everyone's idea of a commuter - Alfa Romeo GTV 2.0 T-Spark) and refused to start this morning so I had to rush about on my poor painfil feet (touch of gout) to grab another set of car keys to get to work.

Got home. She started first time as usual.

Cars do have souls. Daisy is telepathic!

I think you may be right re cars (of a certain age) having a soul. Quite a selection of motors you have at your disposal, one for whatever mood you happen to be in methinks.

Could have been worse. N/s front subframe needs a weld and the o/s gaiters was split. There's also a few advisories but nothing desperate.

Should be fixed and MoT'd by Monday evening.

Not too bad at all.

Mine just failed today. "Chassis" around a subframe mounting, the difficult bit of which is now done (a real PITA), hole in the outer sill, simple and cut out ready to patch, and a large hole at the rear of the os inner sill. As in postcard size. Think I used that area for jacking up a few times, now needs a bit of attention.

anyway, I reckon ready for re MOT tuesday, as it is starting to rain and it is Lucy's 18th birthday tomorrow.

Nice new MoT issued albeit with quite a list of advisories to keep me busy.

Have to say that Daisy handles much better now that the body is attached to the subframes at each corner and not just 3...... ??)

My turn for mot with the T6 tomorrow at 11:30, hoping for a pass before Sat to get it taxed for the Classics Sunday run. Filled my window washer bottle, put some air in the tyres, put new number plates on & sprayed WD40 on seat runners & mechanisms, think that should do it!!

It's always a nice feeling when they pass!
