Quote: - The advance is 9° BTDC for the 1300 (I've got the 1300 onwer book, not the 1300 TC), what it is suppose to be on the 1300 TC ? 6 degrees BTDC Quote: - What are you suppose to read on the ampmeter, not used to that ? I don't feel safe with that much current going through the console ... is a voltmeter better ? Never know of any problems ever with these! Normally sit around mid point, maybe slightly in charge zone daytime driving. If you have too many electrical bits working (lights, wipers, fan etc) then you may see discharge. After starting car, you may see increased charge as battery recharges back to equilibrium. Quote: - Where is located the dynamo voltage stabilisator ? in the control box ? Is it wise to change it for an Alternator ? Yes, it is in the control box. Unless you fit lots of spotlights, use the car extensively at night or in bad weather then the dynamo should be fine. It is easy to convert though. Quote: what would be the electrical mod to the circuit (with the ampmeter)? when I converted to an alternator I left the ammeter unchanged if I remember correctly Quote: - Haynes, Autobooks or Pitman ? Got some spare if you are interested! Quote: - The suspension (front and rear) is a little sqeeky, can't find any greasing points ? None - most likely worn bushes. Bottom ones in shock absorbers are common to wear http://triumphandadversity.blogspot.com http://mikeyb.weebly.com/ CT Drivers Challenge Champ '08 '09 CT Drivers Champ '12 Serial Triumph Offender, max out at 25 years ago! Yes, that is one way of doing it as the existing wiring will be in parallel with the new cable. But the ammeter will no long be relevant, it's sole purpose is to tell you if current is either flowing to (charging) or from (discharging) the battery, if there is another route for the current to flow other than through the gauge it's not telling you anything. Then you fit a volt meter instead :) Gordon Townley RBRR 2014,2016,2018 |

trubac wrote: Another Q? Can the diaphragm spring go weak and the clutch become less bity ? do the diaphragm spring wear a lot with time ? In other word is it better to change everything (plate and cover) or just plate is fine ? The diaphragm spring can go week if the clutch has been abused as the heat can re-temper the spring, also as the plate wears there is less peload but that should be compensated for in the design of the clutch. If it were me i would change the clutch as a set, new cover, plate, and release bearing Gordon Townley RBRR 2014,2016,2018 |
