Hello again chaps...hope all is well! What a weekend weather wise ay! So of course like many other classic soft top owners i was out tearing around rye and east sussex, top down loving the sun! Basically my good ladie wife isn't much of a classic car fan but happily joins me on country drives...she said she'd be so much happier if the wind didnt woosh so much around inside the car and mess up her hair! To make every journey as enjoyable for her so she slowly comes round to my tr i looked at wind deflectors...mesh and plastic. Question one....do they really work!? Question two...there very expensive (for a chap who keeps his baby on the road on a serious shoe string) but has anyonbe got a used one or have any drawings or specs to make my own? How hard can it be! Many thanks for your time! Chow fo now! |

As a guy who has had a wind deflector on every convertible I've ever owned, except for my TR6 (BMW, Audi, MGF and MX5) I ca tell you yes they absolutely do work and make a huge difference. You eliminate the buffeting without taking away any of the thrill of top down driving. http://www.wheresmycar.co.uk - Ever curious about the history of your car? |

I'm sure there is a chap in the TR Register that knocks these up and would probably be good value. TR4 1962 having surgery at present |

I used one on my 6 from an MG TF, my duaghter sold her car and I nabbed the windbreaker, bit of velcro and some ali brackets and it worked a treat. Cost me a couple of cheeky vimtos (whistle) PJM (Ginger, Triumph Stag Man O/D, Strombergs) |

reminds me of how I used to have to roll the rear windows down in my old vectra whenever I had the sunroof open..completely changed the airflow to something manageable and got rid of a strange, vibration/resonance that I used to get. http://www.wheresmycar.co.uk - Ever curious about the history of your car? |
